I admit my reason to buy this may have been a little silly. I'm an optics geek. I test my camera lenses carefully on a tripod... and almost no binocular reviews test them while held steady which seems odd to me... so I'm doing it for myself. This works well in any of my Arca-Swiss style clamps. Of course, your binoculars have to have a 1/4-20 tripod mount to use it. I've proven my Mavens are just as sharp as my Zeiss bins...
