LD Systems LDS-U50 Overview

The LD Systems U505.1 IEM is a stereo wireless in-ear monitoring system that offers clear monitor mixes with wireless freedom to musicians and presenters performing live on stage. Designed for both pros and beginners, this easy-to-use system marries a set of professional features with a modern design, reliable transmission, and straightforward operation. It is well suited for audio applications such as music performances, theater, rehearsals, broadcasts, presentations, houses of worship, and more.

The U505.1 IEM includes a 1 RU, 1/2 rack U500 IEM wireless transmitter with its rackmount kit and a U500 IEM bodypack receiver ready to accept the earphones of your choice. The system provides up to 10 hours of continuous use with two AA batteries in the receiver—at a range up to 328'. Up to 12 systems can operate simultaneously in each frequency band.

Taylor the Sound of Your Mix for Clear Audio
  • Use the 3-band EQ with parametric mids and the switchable limiter to keep sudden peaks at bay and ensure that your mix sounds exactly the way you like it.
  • Choose between Stereo, Focus, or Mono monitoring modes. In Mono mode, the two L/R channels are summed. In Stereo mode, the balance between the L/R channels can be adjusted. In Focus mode, the L/R channels are played back in the center and the balance between the two channels can be adjusted directly on the pocket receiver.
  • The bodypack receiver offers a choice of three squelch levels to automatically mute your receiver if you lose reception.
  • With a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 95 dB and with less than 0.3% THD, the system's noise floor is exceptionally low, giving you clear and natural-sounding audio.
Reliable In-Ear Monitoring at Up to 328'
  • The system offers 96 frequencies to choose from, enabling you to find a clean wireless channel at your location.
  • The switchable 2, 10, or 30mW transmission power allows you to overcome interference and reach a maximum range of 328'.

If this system is meant to be mounted in a rack, why is the antenna mounted on the back of the unit?
Asked by: Bruce
The receiver in the LD Systems U505.1 IEM Wireless Stereo In-Ear Monitoring System uses a standard rear antenna connection commonly found on rackmount receivers. The rear mounted antenna does not typically limit wireless performance and often provides convenience in respects to antenna distribution and connectivity. The antenna in this system also adds the advantage of being jointed for flexibility and pointing horizontally if needed.
