Being that USB has a short length limitation, and this is meant to be ceiling mounted, and that PoE is needed for power anyway...can this be installed with an ethernet cable, and a simple PoE switch in a little "network" without a router? I've heard that it needs a router to be assigned an IP address.
Asked by: Timothy
The Shure Stem Ceiling Beamforming Microphone Array for Conference Room BH #SHCEILING1 must be connected to your local network that supports PoE+ (Power over Ethernet). This connection provides the device with power, data, and other IoT and SIP capabilities. If your network doesn't support PoE+, you must use a separate PoE+ injector or PoE+ enabled switch (both available separately).
