Good lens, but sharpness is questionable
I like this lens a lot. I bought the EF mount, so that I can use it on several cameras and formats: Fuji GFX and Fuji X cameras, as well as a GFX converted to infrared. This lens covers the GFX nicely, with some pleasing vignetting, and it seems to have no hotspots with infrared photography, so it's got that going for it. My only issue is that on my infrared camera, the edges of the image are soft, even if I crop to APS-C format. I'm not sure if I got a soft lens or not, I've only heard good things about Laowa's QC, so I ordered a second lens to be sure. Will update here if needed, but sharpness is acceptable as is, I suppose I expected it to be razor-sharp. As to its other features, I like the small size, low weight and 67mm filter thread. Those points make it a very easy and enjoyable lens to use, and it's a great lens for this focal length. It works well on FF, MF and APS-C. Focusing is smooth and well-calibrated, and build quality is very good. Overall, a winner.
Great alternative for Zeiss Classic 15mm f2.8
I bought this to complete a set of Zeiss Classic ZF lenses, modded for cinema. The Zeiss 15mm is still very expensive and has a large built in hood that make it impractical for video use with matteboxes. It's a pretty good match optically, not perfect but suprisingly close. Build is great. Good contrast and sharpness for most of the frame. The very corners tend to be somewhat soft on full frame, but on the BMPCC4K with or without speedbooster they're cropped out anyways. It's a perfect solution me. Might also be a nice match for a Contax Zeiss Set.
