How do you know what to connect where? The 3 ring side or the 2 ring side into the mic or camera?
There are two cables included with the Deity Microphones V-Mic D4 Mini Ultracompact Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone. One is 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRS and the other is 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRRS. The TRS connector has two rings and the TRRS connector has three rings. The TRS connectors should be used to connect to the mic output and also to connect to a camera's mic input or to the input on a recorder. The TRRS connector is for use with a mobile device and can be used with adapters to enable compatibility for connection to iOS or Android devices like iPhones, iPads, and other smartphones and tablets.

What is the pinout of this unit with and without the input jack attached? Is the capsule attached to both L, R? Does the input replace the capsule = R? Does it take L, R, or Both on input for the R channel output?
When using the Deity Microphones V-Mic D4 Mini Ultracompact Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone on its own, the signal captured by the microphone capsule is sent to both the left and right channels of the 3.5mm output connection. When using the V-Mic D4 Mini with a secondary input source, the microphone signal is allocated to the left channel of the output connection while the secondary source uses the right channel.

There are no foam windscreens available separately that are specifically sized for the Deity Microphones V-Mic D4. You could try using the Auray WHF-2040 Foam Windscreen For 3/4" Diameter Microphones (B&H # AUWHF2040) which is close in diameter, but it's not an exact fit for the V-Mic D4. A rubber O-ring or rubber band or a bit of padding or even tape can be used to create a tighter fit for the windscreen if you find that it is too loose.

No. Unfortunately, the Deity Microphones V-Mic D4 Mini Shotgun Microphone is not compatible for use with the Insta360 ONE RS Camera because the camera cannot supply plug-in power for the microphone. You can use another mini shotgun mic that has a battery for power, such as the Comica Audio CVM-V20 Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone (B&H # COCVMV20).
