I shot an event a couple of weeks ago and these were super helpful. I was able to have two camera bodies so I didn’t have to switch lenses at all. They were easy to install and during use I had no problems, clicking my cameras in and out of the locking position.

PERFECT for a one camera day

Im a couples and wedding photographer, and for a one camera shooting day its perfect, as the camera is attached to your body and you can have your hands free. Also is a great option in comparison with a strap, because those usually swing around when ever you turn.

Is the camera plate mandatory or will the Spider Camera Holster Black Widow Pin work? I notice the ball on the plate is flat on the end where as the pin is rounded.
Asked by: Brooks
Thank you Brooks - All Spider products are cross-compatible, so any Spider Pin will work on any camera holster. Adding to answer below, we have very good reasons for you to consider a Spider plate: 1. all Spider plates have an extra 14/20" thread to allow connection to any tripod. 2. The plates also allow for various types cameras to be carried at the most ergonomic way while on your belt. Depending on the weight of your camera/lens combination, you may want to consider using either our DSLR or Mirrorless plate. 3. Our Mirrorless plate has Arca-Swiss feature built in to allow seamless workflow with like tripods. Can I use this holster with my Spider hand strap?..thanks
Asked by: Anthony
Thank you Anthony.. The answer is YES. Depending on your camera body type/size, we recommend either attaching the pro hand strap in between the Spider plate and the camera. Another way is using the rubber washer+metal washer+screw that come with the hand strap and attaching the hand strap on top of the Spider plate (we have an extra 14/20" threaded hole there). That is a solution we recommend for users who do not use tripod often or have an issue with the Spider Mirrorless plate rotating or moving out of placement. Thank you, Spider Team

would this system work with a shimoda x30 or x50 back pack strap?
Asked by: Owen
According to the manufacturer, the Spider Camera Holster Spider X Camera Holster Backpacker Kit can fit on a strap up to 2.25 inches wide. Most straps can be compressed slightly if they are wider and usually you would mount this lower on the strap in a thinner area.
