The cover is essentially several cylindrical rings of neoprene which cover the lens. It provides full access to all the rotational movements and switches on the lens. The added protection from accidental bumps and bruises is an insuring factor.
Not really good for moving parts of the lens

Easy to install, however I after using it for several days, I decided to remove the cover parts for both focus and zoom rings, they just don't work really well when coated. Also, it's not really comfortable to access the lens switches, I will probably will simply cut a hole instead of the transparent part of the coat.

The LensCoat Lens Cover for Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS Pro Lens (Black) is strictly the lens coat, it is not the lens itself. This is only meant to coat the lens, not a camera body. Additionally the lens this is for is a Micro Four Third lens that would not work on the Four Thirds Olympus E-400 SLR.
