Ilford HP5 Plus Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures)

Ilford's HP5 Plus Black and White Negative Film is a traditional and versatile panchromatic film designed for general use in a wide variety of shooting conditions. Exhibiting notably wide exposure latitude, this film responds well to use in mixed and difficult lighting and provides medium contrast for greater overall control. It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 400/27° when developed in standard black and white chemistry, and responds well to push processing. HP5 Plus is a flexible film type that is ideally suited for use in general photographic applications in an array of different lighting conditions.

This item is one 36-exposure roll of 35mm film and is supplied in a DX-coded cassette.

Ilford MULTIGRADE RC Deluxe Paper (Pearl, 8 x 10", 100 Sheets)

Highly versatile and well-suited for all traditional black and white printing needs, this box of 100 sheets of 8 x 10" Ilford MULTIGRADE RC Deluxe features a pearl 44M surface finish that has a more textured appearance than glossy paper to help reduce overwhelming surface reflections, yet still retains some reflectivity to achieve deeper black values for a longer apparent tonal scale. This Generation V paper features an updated emulsion with a more linear contrast profile that responds consistently and accurately to the full 00-5 range of Multigrade filters for fine tuning the look of prints. The paper also features a truly neutral base tint and responds especially well to different toning solutions for adjusting the final print color. The enhanced emulsion also affords deeper blacks along with enhanced mid-tone separation for greater flexibility when printing negatives of varying densities. Additionally, it is suitable for printing both conventional black and white negatives as well as chromogenic black and white negative films and the paper can be processed using standard black and white chemistry in either trays or using machine processors.

question

What is the expiry date for the films in the Ilford HP5+ 50-roll pack?
Asked by: Bezalel B.
The bricks I recently received (10/16) are dated April 2020, for a 3.5 year lead time. Probably can't count on that always being the case - could be more or less - but my fairly regular purchases have always had lead times measured in years, definitely not months! (It's b+w, after all.)

question

whats the exp date of this film? i see the pic is mar 2013 whats that mean?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately, we do not have access to our inventory since our warehouses are in a different location, however, any film that was within 6-months of its expiration date would be sold as short dated and listed as such on our site. All other film will be at least 6 months out from its expiration date. The March 2013 date in the product photo on the webpage is simply for illustrative purposes and does not reflect the date of all of the film that is available.

Can this film be processed in a red lit dark room?
Asked by: Chris
Well you have to take the film out in complete darkness and get it into into your film developer tank. Once the film is developed you can of course have it in your red light lit darkroom, but I'm pretty sure you can't take the undeveloped film out in red, or any other, light.
