Off comes the UV filter, out comes the variable ND filter. Where was the ND stored, and where does the UV wait its turn? The plastic jewel-box is fine if you're not in a hurry. So, take off the UV, set it on the lens-cap, get out the ND, put it on, then, stash the UV in the cotton bag. No scratches, dust or lint when the UV comes back out. Which size cotton bag? Next size up if your ND filter (with cap) is thicker than the typical filter.
