The tactical gray 15mm LWS Baseplate Type IV is compatible with Tilta full cages for RED KOMODO, Sony FX3, and Panasonic BGH1 cameras. Use this baseplate to add 15mm LWS rod support for accessories like a follow focus, matte box, or lens motor. The 15mm LWS Baseplate Type IV's dovetail bottom slides onto a separately available Tilta-standard baseplate or ARRI-style baseplate when used with the separately available Tilta to ARRI adapter. The bottom of the baseplate also incorporates several 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for mounting a quick release plate.

The tactical gray 15mm LWS Baseplate Type IV is compatible with Tilta full cages for RED KOMODO, Sony FX3, and Panasonic BGH1 cameras. Use this baseplate to add 15mm LWS rod support for accessories like a follow focus, matte box, or lens motor. The 15mm LWS Baseplate Type IV's dovetail bottom slides onto a separately available Tilta-standard baseplate or ARRI-style baseplate when used with the separately available Tilta to ARRI adapter. The bottom of the baseplate also incorporates several 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for mounting a quick release plate.

Description says it's compatible with Tilta FX3 Cage, but it's actually only compatible with the V1 cage not the V2.

Perfectly pairs with the tilta camera cage for the Komodo. Gets my rails to the proper height for follow focus with 15mm rod support.

Why can't B&H help its customers do a better job identifying proprietary add-ons upfront, especially for Tilta TA-BSP4-15?

This Baseplate is only compatible with specific camera cages such as the our cages for the RED Komodo, Sony FX3, Canon R5C and Panasonic BGH1. We suggest selecting a baseplate based on the camera cage you are using!

When the Titla TA-BSP4-15 is mounted to the FX3, can the battery door on the FX be opened and closed to insert a battery?

You would need a Tilta cage with the baseplate. However, Yes you would be able to open the battery door and it would be clear when using the baseplate and cage together.

Will this work on the new lightweight shoulder ...

Will this work on the new lightweight shoulder rig from tilta or will I need additional plates to adapt it. The baseplate that comes with the shoulder rig only has one rod support and this would give me two hopefully, thank you!

The Tiltaing 15mm LWS Baseplate Type IV (Black) provides 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads on the underside, which can be used with the Tilta Lightweight Shoulder Rig (Black) when feeding screws from the bottom of the shoulder rig to the base plate.

Does the top dovetail work with Manfrotto plates or only FX3 cage?

The top clamp of the Tiltaing 15mm LWS Baseplate Type IV (Black) (B&H# TITABSP415B) will work with Tilta dovetail plates such as Tilta 10" Lightweight Dovetail Plate (Black) (B&H# TIC16BLK) and the dovetail plates on Tilta LWS compatible cages, but not with any other. There are LWS-compatible cages made for several models of cameras.
