I broke my GF 250 hood on a hike in the North Island in the Shetlands. I'm not sure how, but I Jammed the Hood collar onto the lens, causing the locking pin to fail when I gently-but-firmly forced it off. So while I had a hood, it was continuously rotating away from the locked position. Electrical tape (always carry some!) held it in place for the remainder of the trip, but it was a nuisance. Replacement hood is an exact replacement.
