Knowing how your body is functioning is only part of the equation. You also need to know how well you're exercising and whether your performance is improving over time. The Charge 5 can help with this as well, with 20 different exercise modes and a built-in GPS receiver for phone-free route tracking on rides, runs, and hikes. It's even swimproof to depths of 164', so you can use it in the pool or at the beach. The Charge 5 can also assist you in other aspects of your day, such as paying for items using contactless Fitbit Pay or giving you smartphone alerts and notifications from such apps as Gmail and WhatsApp. All of this can be managed on a built-in display that's made to be twice as bright as the previous Charge 4 for up to seven days on a full charge.

Wearing your Charge 5 throughout the night will give you a daily Sleep Score and graphs of the quality of your sleep, showing you how much time you spent in light, deep, and REM sleep.

Fitbit Charge 5 Reviews

Beware

By Tony

I bought this product on the basis of excellent reviews. It did what it was supposed to do until a few weeks ago when it would not hold a charge for more than 3 days. There have been many complaints from owners but no remedy has been forthcoming from the maker. I am thinking hard about changing brands.

The device is not the issue. Its the band.

While I have not dealt with all the intricacies of the Fitbit device, I have come to the point where I am very unhappy with the wristband. First, putting it on requires tucking the extra length under the band. Second, the material of the band seems to be silicon. When I wear it , it begins a reaction with my skin making my wrist itch very much. Thus far, I have used a surgical tape cut out to the outline of the band to act as a barrier to the skin. It has not worked entirely well. I may use additional layers to deal with problem. One has to ask if Fitbit would have any alternative material for the band after all these years?

Nice upgrade

The wristband does not snag like before and the display is easier to read. Navigation a bit easier. It is a worthwhile upgrade if your older charge is too scratched up or something.

Great looks and functionality.

I finally found the fitbit that is not ugly! Turn off the GPS and the battery lasts almost a week.

However, didn't like the fact they got rid of the Floors (altimeter). Would have given it 5 stars if it would had the altimeter.

just what i needed

The Fitbit Charge 5 measures your SpO2 levels while you sleep and not during exercise.
