From Manufacturer
Musicians and producers looking for a highly flexible shape-shifting synthesizer will be thrilled with AIR Music Technology Loom II, an award-winning modular additive synthesizer with a shape-shifting Morph Pad that makes it easy to create rich, swirling, and captivating sounds.
Loom II builds upon the success of the original classic and features numerous parameters and performance enhancements including an expanded 8-voice architecture, four new modules, two additional Subharmonic Optional Partials below the normal spectrum, enhanced Morph Pad options, and 500 all-new patches, plus the original 350 patches, which have been remastered to take advantage of the new features.
Loom II utilizes a modular approach to additive synthesis, a synthesis technique that involves combining simple waveforms together to create complex sounds. Use the programmable Morph Pad to breathe life into your sonic explorations by morphing between user-defined variations of your patch, adding motion and momentum that continues to evolve. Loom II can create anything from wobbles and ethereal pads to ambient soundscapes and more.
Loom allows up to 512 harmonic partials per patch and uses an intuitive modular design to create complex sounds quickly and easily. There are 34 editable modules that are designed to perform specific tasks including Octaver, Second Tone, Moving Filter, Noise, Linear Lowpass, Modulator, and more. The framework provides a series of cells, where up to 10 modules can interact and combine to generate an additive synthesis patch.
Loom II incudes over 850 patches created by some of the best sound designers in the business such as Richard Devine and Mark Ovenden. You're able to tweak, analyze, and customize their sounds to make them your own, or simply dive deep and create your own additive sounds from scratch. Should you have difficulty deciding where to begin, the Smart Randomizer will instantly inspire your sound-design process.
Utilize the Spectral Distortion and Spectral Modulation controls to influence the overall sound. Three LFOs provide tempo synced modulation sources for any module. The four velocity sensitive Envelope Generators provide an additional layer of control that can change over time. The onboard effects add extra expression to your customized additive sound creations. You'll find various distortions, chorus and phaser effects, and reverb to add remarkable depth and motion to your sound. Loom II is Mac and Windows compatible and works within most major DAWs as an AAX, RTAS, AU, or VST plug-in.
