NETGEAR GSM4212P-100NAS Reviews

Dante and digital intercom

By Robby
Rated 5 out of 5
Date: 2026-08-11

We installed this switch in an Extron and Dante network, and it was easy to configure to handle Dante traffic alongside other network traffic. I later needed PTPv2 functionality for a digital intercom project and realized this switch fit the bill. I will reassign it for the digital intercom installation and deploy another Cisco switch to handle the Dante audio.

Essential for NDI Video

An unmanaged switch is subject to dropouts and loss of time sync with NDI video. The Netgear M4250 is easily configured for optimal use with NDI video, as well as Dante and MADI audio. While there is a lag depending on the configured cache size, it is consistent throughout a session which may last several hours, without dropouts. I have used up to 7 NDI sources, and all stay in sync.
