SONORIS Mastering Compressor Plug-In (Download)

Featuring up to 8x upsampling and no odd harmonic distortion, the SONORIS Mastering Compressor plug-in delivers clean, transparent, and precise control of dynamics, plus flexible character that can be warm or aggressive when the music calls for it. Created for demanding mastering applications that require finesse and subtle yet effective sonic manipulation, this digital processor provides the ability to work in stereo, split (mono), or mid-side modes along with highly tunable parameters, feedback and feedforward detector types, and two independent knee controls.

The sidechain, equipped with three types of filters to allow tonal sculpting of the trigger signal, offers variable linking from fully linked to fully split. Dial in the attack and release times manually, or set them to automatically adjust according to the audio content. Built-in parallel compression, switchable even-order-harmonic distortion, and a scalable user interface make the SONORIS Mastering Compressor even more fitting for today's workflows.

Transparency
No odd harmonic distortion that can be found in most compressors is present in the SONORIS Mastering Compressor. To reduce residual artifacts, it features upsampling of the audio up to eight times. Transparency can be further enhanced by selecting auto-release and feedback detection together with two soft knees.

Character
If a more aggressive behavior is needed, you can choose feedforward detection with a harder knee. It can have some character if pushed. If needed, the audio can be warmed up by even harmonics with the flip of a switch.
Focus
Besides working on a full mix, the plug-in can also work in split mode on the individual left, right, mid, or side channels, or anything in between with the variable link.
Flexibility
The sidechain for each channel has a selectable high-pass, band-pass, low-pass filter. This gives great flexibility and allows for creative enhancement of the audio.

Featuring up to 8x upsampling and no pre-warping effects, the SONORIS Mastering Equalizer plug-in delivers transparent, coloration-free, and precise adjustment of frequencies in anything from challenging solo tracks to busy mixes. Created for demanding mastering applications that require finesse and subtle, yet effective sonic manipulation, this digital processor provides the ability to work in stereo, split (mono), or mid-side modes along with selectable linear or minimum phase modes for each of its seven bands.

Choose peaking or shelving filters to execute surgical cuts or broad tonal shifts, or switch to high- and low-pass filters when it's necessary to roll off excessive bass and treble. The built-in spectrum analyzer and high-resolution meter ensure accurate display of frequency content and levels in real time, and the plug-in's GUI is resizable via draggable handles. Full automation is supported, allowing dynamic or snapshot-style EQ changes.

Transparency
This 7-band parametric EQ can be used to enhance or correct difficult material like vocal or instrumental soloists and groups, orchestral recordings, and complex mixes, without introducing any unwanted coloring. The linear phase implementation of the plug-in ensures a transparent character and just boosts or cuts a frequency range without adding sound color. It doesn't smear transients or create mud, nor does it alter the imaging and depth information of the original sound. This way it is possible to boost or cut more than with a conventional equalizer without any of these negative side effects.
Backward-Forward Filtering
The linear phase algorithm of the SONORIS Mastering Equalizer is based on a technique called backward-forward filtering, until now only implemented in some expensive high-end equalizers. The main advantage of this technique is that IIR filters can be used instead of FIR filters, the latter is commonly found in linear phase implementations. IIR filters are known for their more analog kind of filtering and are also more efficient than FIR filters. The filters used in the SONORIS Mastering Equalizer are actually the same as in the SONORIS Equalizer and also have correct gain up to Nyquist.

Processing Modes
Every band can be set up to process stereo, left, right, or mid and side channels. Processing the mid or side information can be very useful in certain situations. In mastering for example, it allows you to enhance a centered vocal while leaving the other instruments untouched, or to center a bass without losing the stereo imaging of the rest. Adjustment is made easy because the EQ allows you to monitor the LR or MS channels.
Display
The plug-in has a large graphical display that shows exactly what you get. The size of the plug-in can be changed to your liking by dragging the lower-right-hand corner.
Upsampling
The SONORIS Mastering Equalizer has automatic, 2x, 4x, and 8x manual upsampling modes. When upsampling, the plug-in has an even more accurate response, especially at the higher frequencies.
