Simple review: Don't buy this plate, it is unsafe This plate is too weak for it's intended purposes. It is poorly designed. This is a piece of gear you need to be able to rely on and the price tag reflects this adapter quite well. When I bought this plate I think it was listed as $200.00. At the time I was broke and needed a solution within 2-3 days. I used this plate for 5 months before it broke under normal use. The silver stud was pried out of the Mitchell base plate. This is in part because the bolts of the stud are not long enough to grab the black plate. Photos attached. My fully weighted jib arm with a ronin-2+camera detached from the plate while on a hustler dolly. THANKFULLY myself and other grips were close enough to catch the jib arm and deal with the situation in a safe manner. If we were not next to the arm this would have been a horrible day on set. I ordered 2 replacement plates, The Kupo version and the Modern Studio Equipment version. Both of those plates blow this one out of the water. For starters both of the other plates are MUCH MUCH sturdier, better designed, have standard size castle nut, and the stud is bolted onto the plate in a much more secure way. I kept the Modern Studio plate because of the name but I was impressed with the Kupo plate and would have happily used it. Side note: The castle nut on this plate is much smaller and flimsier than any other castle-nut I've ever seen. Castle-nut wrenches are too large and wont work on this plate. I reached out to proaim directly with my concerns about this plate and they did not respond. I don't care about getting a refund, I genuinely think this is an unsafe product. I hope this review helps someone make a better decision.
