The Ricoh GT-2 Tele Conversion lens is designed for use only with the Ricoh GA-2 Lens Adapter and there are no published specs for the thread size.

Can this be attached to the original GRIII? If so, what result would you get?

It works fine with the GA-1 adapter and even records the correct 35mm equivalent focal length in the EXIF data, but has significant vignetting at the uncropped 28mm (42 tele) focal length, which is probably why it is not advertised as supported. It has very slight vignetting at 35mm (53 tele) and none at 50mm (75 tele) crop.

Unfortunately no, the Ricoh GT-2 Tele Conversion lens is not compatible with the Ricoh GR4 camera.

It has threads, and the provided lens cap is marked 62mm, but I don't have a filter that size to actually try to thread onto it.

Why on earth does it crop the sensor? If you tape the contacts and get appx 60mm, is there vignetting?

Cameras usually crop the angle of view in a situation like this because the corners of the picture would look too soft and dark if there wasn't a crop. Regarding taping the contacts we cannot comment on that as it is more of a DIY option.

Yes, the Ricoh GT-2 Tele Conversion lens can be used with the NiSi 49mm Filter Adapter for Ricoh GR IIIx.
