To clear up confusion, some ads may say EVF, but they mean EXTERNAL Viewfinder. I am not sure if this is an innocent mistake, or trickery. Most of us shooters consider the "E" to mean "electronic". The ads and descriptions should read or say "OVF" or "external OVF".

What does it mean that this viewfinder's field of view is 85% (as per specs from Ricoh)? How does that square with its 40 mm frame marks?
I'm confused by this answer. So the magnification is 85% of actual view (harder to shoot with both eyes open?) and the framelines are for a square aspect ratio? If that's right, it seems odd to not have 3:2 ratio which is what most folks would assume, no?
