This accessory was an impulse buy; completely unneccessary, but it does slightly relieve the stealthy black-on-black look of the GRIIIx with brighter highlights. It's a dark grey, so the effect is pretty subtle; if I'm really get into the weeds, the grey ring tilts towards a violet hue, relative to the blue-green grey of the IIIx shutter release.
