I use this mainly for traveling overseas and to and from work. It's a lightweight solution to have Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), available when on the road. At 534 grams (without cover), it is truly a lightweight computer that allows one to be productive when away from the desk. If you're a student or traveler, this Microsoft Surface Go 3 is highly recommended.

The Microsoft 10.5" Multi-Touch Surface Go 3 (Wi-Fi Only, Platinum) does allow users to install apps by default, but only Microsoft approved apps, as it ships with Windows 11 Home in S Mode, which is a safe mode that prevents non approved applications form being installed. However, S mode can be disabled by the admin, allowing all Windows compatible applications to be installed like a normal Windows computer. Once S mode is disabled you can not reactivate it.

The LTE features of the Microsoft Surface Go 3 allow you to connect to cellular networks in the same way you would connect to WiFi. All other features are the same as a regular Windows device, and the same apps and peripherals may be used.
