Enhance the dialogue and bass of your TV with this B&H Kit that includes the Bose TV Speaker Soundbar and the Bose Bass Module 500. They can be paired together wirelessly or connected via the included 5' optical cable.

Bose TV Speaker Soundbar

Enhance dialogue and overall TV audio with the Bose TV Speaker Soundbar. It has Dialogue Mode, which highlights vocal effects to help clarify speech. Bass can be enhanced with the touch of the "Bass" button on the remote control, or you can add an optional Bass Module via the dedicated 1/8" proprietary subwoofer output.

The TV Speaker has an optical and HDMI ARC input for single-cable connectivity to your compatible TV. An 1/8" aux input lets you connect another audio source, and Bluetooth connectivity enables wireless streaming from compatible devices. The soundbar can be wall-mounted with optional hardware. A 5' optical cable is included for instant connectivity.

Designed for Simple Setup
A single cable from your TV – either HDMI ARC or optical – has you up and running quickly. With HDMI-CEC, you can use your compatible TV's remote control to adjust the volume of the soundbar. It detects a signal from your TV when turned on and automatically turns on.
Visual Confirmation
Small LED lights on the front panel turn on and/or change color when certain features are enabled. They also blink to acknowledge volume changes.
Acoustic Performance
Two full-range drivers are angled to deliver wide, spatial sound, while the center tweeter helps clarify speech for clear dialogue.
Dialogue Mode for Enhanced Clarity
Place the TV Speaker in Dialogue Mode to further enhance the clarity of speech, conversations, and news programs. The soundbar analyzes what you're watching to further elevate vocals to help you hear and understand every word. Just press the "Dialogue Mode" button on the remote control to enable it.
Wireless Music
Stream content from your compatible Bluetooth device to the TV Speaker. Press the "Bluetooth" button on the remote control to pair a device and wirelessly play music and podcasts.
Compact Design
At just over 2" tall, the TV Speaker is designed to fit nearly anywhere. An optional wall bracket is available for wall mounting.
More Bass
Press the "Bass" button on the remote control to add more bass. You can also expand the system with an optional Bass Module 500 or Bass Module 700 and the Bass Module Connection Cable.

Bose Bass Module 500

Add more bass to your compatible Bose speaker or soundbar with the Bose Bass Module 500. The 10" cubic bass cabinet conveniently connects to your compatible speaker or soundbar wirelessly, giving you freedom to place it anywhere in your room. If needed, a 3.5mm connection allows for a wired connection to some compatible speakers/soundbars with the purchase of an optional Bose Bass Module Connection Cable.

The unit is a nice size. The sound is cleaner than the sound from the TV speaker, so it is not necessary to crank up the volume. I rated the sound bar as four star rather than five star because it would not connect correctly using either the optical connection or the HDMI port on my TV. I had to use a 1/8 inch phone plug to a phono "Y" adapter to get sound out of the unit. The soundbar did include the optical cable, but did not include an HDMI cable, or a phone plug to phono plug cable. I also with the remote control was larger and less monochromatic.

As i am using my 32" TV as a computer monitor. Would this Bose sound bar be still suitable as a nearfield speaker. ? ( to be place around 2 ft from my seat). Thanks for answer

Yes, it should work just fine it if you're using HDMI from your PC.

Can I set up this soundbar with my Reference turntable (fluance rt85) without a phono preamp directly?

The Fluance rt85 would need to have a preamp built in to be able to do that but according to the specs it does not.

Old TV: Toshiba (model 2008). Only output: 3.5mm headphone jack. Can I connect that headphone out, to the 3.5mm AUX in of the BOSE TV Speaker Sound Bar 838309-1100 and get the same sound quality as I would with a newer TV and a optical or HDMI connection?

Do you have directions to auto OFF the unit when the TV is turned off?

The manual does not seem to provide any Auto Off Feature. It looks to only be able to power on automatically if the Speaker is connected to your TV via HDMI connection. Yes, the Bose TV Speaker Soundbar can be used with a Mac. You can connect it via Bluetooth for wireless audio or use a wired connection through the Mac’s headphone jack or USB-C adapter (with a 3.5 mm cable). For the best experience, make sure your Mac’s audio output is set to the Bose TV Speaker after connecting.
