Nanlite NANLINK Transmitter Box Reviews
A little finicky to get going, but does the job.
I gave this 4/5 stars only because it shipped with old firmware and had to be updated before use. It was a little weird to get set up the first time, but once I got it linked to the Nanlink app, it works great. We have a set of Nanette Forza lights that came out before the app, and this lets us group those with our newer fixtures and adjust everything from a single tablet, instead of having to use multiple remotes. Just like with the remote, you can set a single transmitter box to multiple channels, so we are able to control three different Forza lamps using just a single box. It's nice that it comes with a 1/4-20 thread on the box, too, so it's easy to clamp to a light stand out of the way, and it has an internal battery that lasts all day, so you don't need to plug anything in.
Must have for 1st Gen Pavotubes! New life to my Tube Lights
WHY did this take so long for Nanlite to make!? Beside my slight annoyance that this was not produced at the same time as the original Pavotubes I can say this is well worth buying. If you've already shelled out $250-$1,000 to get a set of Tube lights this is totally worth the extra $90 for it's functionality. (Pros!) - #1 From my my limited use the app works quite well! It responds instantly for my Pavotubes. NO MORE KNOB CONTROLS! Thanks the lord! #2 Compact package. I really love that its small and easily fits into my case. #3 Battery power for 14 hours! I love it! (Cons) - #1 Terrible setup process. Not intuitive at all! You're gonna need to watch a tutorial.
