Featuring an aluminum construction, the TerraMaster F5-221 boasts two 80mm fans to keep internals cool. Plus, a low maximum noise level of 19.8 dBA ensures quiet operation. Monitor status at a glance thanks to LED indicators on the front panel. Or, use the TNAS mobile app to access content and NAS settings on the go from devices running on iOS 8.2 or later or Android 6.0 or later. Utilizing the TOS 4.1 operating system, this NAS enclosure is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

The TerraMaster F5-221 utilizes an Intel Celeron dual-core 2 GHz processor and is equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet ports for network aggregation. Furthermore, AES-NI hardware encryption and 4K transcoding allow this NAS array to achieve transfer speeds up to 119 MB/s in RAID 0, making it an ideal solution for small business or home entertainment applications.
Multiple Layers of Data Security
The F5-221 relies on automatic scheduled backups, Btrfs file system snapshots, RAID 1, 5, and 6 array security, AES hardware folder and network transport encryption, and cloud drive data backup for boosted data security.
Next-Generation File System
Utilizing optimized snapshot technology, the Btrfs file system delivers advanced data protection, prevention of data corruption, and minimal maintenance expenses. In addition to data integrity, this file system promotes flexible and efficient data protection and recovery. The optimized snapshot technology generates 512 snapshots for every shared folder and up to 8192 overall system snapshots for file- or folder-level data recovery.
4K Video Transcoding
Compatible with the DLNA protocol, third-party multimedia servers enable users to stream 4K media content from this NAS array to multimedia playback devices. The device offers 4K H.264 live transcoding at a max size of 4K H.264/H.265 at 8 bits and 30 fps. Users can also convert and play 4K video on computers, smartphones, and media players that lack native support for HD formats.
