Sonnet USB-BT4 Reviews
High Hopes, Low Performance
I really wanted to like this, but it was simply not meant to be. M2 Mac Mini on Sonoma 14.6.1 in a Sonnet Rack Mac enclosure in a rack, so this should be just what the doctor ordered, right? Not so fast. The idea was to use a secondary bluetooth keyboard and mouse at an extended location about 20' away where the signal is just low enough that signal is a little intermittent. However, a couple red flags popped up after it arrived - although the packaging says Mac OS 10.12+, when I went to download drivers from Sonnet their website says "Not compatible with macOS 15+". The packaging states "Supports 7 devices simultaneously", but I could not get more than 2 to connect. In addition, after following the installation instructions, Airdrop to/from other Mac/iOS devices no longer worked. I reached out to Sonnet support, and although they were very responsive they were not able to provide a solution. Although the other Sonnet accessories I own (RackMac, Thunderbolt AVB adapter) work great with no issues, this bluetooth extender does not seem to meet the usual Sonnet standard.
