I have two iMacs and needed an SD card reader. This was what I needed and more. It attaches easily and works flawlessly. I put one on each.

The hub's USB-C port is designed only for data-transfer and will not support video output, (you will not be able to connect it to a external monitor). You can connect an external DVD player through the USB port.
