With only 2 USB ports with the iMac, this was pretty much a must-have for peripherals. Very happy with the additional connectivity.

I bought two of these USB hubs that clamp to the bottom edge of a new Mac computer, which has no USB ports built in. They worked for a while, although the clamping action was not strong enough. Now, though, I am replacing both of them because some of the USB ports just don't work consistently. Sad, because I really like the design. It's too late to ask for a refund, but I would if I could, because you don't ask much of a USB hub, just that it provide a reliable way to connect things to your computer.

The hub's USB-C port is designed only for data-transfer and will not support video output, (you will not be able to connect it to a external monitor). You can connect an external DVD player through the USB port.
