The SilverFast IT-8 Calibration Target for Fuji Transparency (6 x 7cm) from LaserSoft ensures your photo and film scans are high quality. A scanner target is a type of measuring table that calculates the exact color recognition of a scanner and identifies the scanner's singularities. During scanner calibration, measuring tables assist with characterizing the specific color reading capabilities of a scanner. LaserSoft produces its color calibration targets in small batches to ensure they are precise. The reflective target option generates a color profile for the scanning of "top-view" material, such as photo prints. Meanwhile, the transparent target option generates a color profile for the scanning of translucent film materials, such as slides. Reference data is available for every corresponding measuring table. This information can be accessed via a barcode on the target. The necessary information is also automatically downloaded when the software is connected to the internet.
These advanced targets offer more measuring fields than the Standard Part 1 targets, with profiles that contain significantly more measurement points and have additional measurement fields for dark and pastel color tones to increase accuracy.
LaserSoft Ai studio or the Archive Suite Version 8.8.0r11 or later is needed to calibrate your scanner with LaserSoft's Advanced Targets.
- Individually measured, high precision targets to meet your special requirements and needs
- Targets are produced in small batches to ensure precision
- SilverFast displays a Delta-E value for the measured mean deviation during IT8 Calibration.
- This deviation is the average deviation of the measured values from the expected values of the reference file for each color field.
- The Delta-E values usually range between 0.8 and 1.8.
- The exact value in this range is not important, as the deviations are difficult to see, even by trained eyes.
- The calibration is there to deliver accurate results despite input variations.
- These deviations are recognized by the ICC profile and the color of originals is displayed properly.
- Part 1 Targets use intelligent algorithms and important measurement points to calculate a calibration profile.
- Part 2 profiles contain significantly more measurement points.
- Part 2 Targets possess additional measurement fields for dark and pastel color tones.
- The profiles according to Part 2 thus enable an overall increased accuracy.
- The Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association, or Fogra, has tested and confirmed the high quality of LaserSoft's Imaging IT8 targets and color calibration.
- Independent German lab Image Engineering, Frechen, also tested and confirmed the high-quality of LaserSoft's IT8 targets.
