Assembled by B&H, this FirstScope 76mm f/4 Signature Series Moon Alt-Az Reflector Telescope with Map Kit is designed as an entry-level system for observing the moon and planets, comet watching, and enjoying meteor showers. This tabletop telescope features a Newtonian reflector optical design, and comes with two fully multicoated 1.25" diameter eyepieces that yield 15x and 75x magnifications. Also included is a two-sided map of the moon featuring lunar surface highlights with observation tips and information.
Wrapped with a graphic featuring an image of the moon captured by astronomer and lunar imager Robert Reeves, the Celestron FirstScope 76mm f/4 Signature Series Moon Alt-Az Reflector Telescope is designed as an ideal entry-level optic for observing the Moon and planets, comet-watching, and enjoying meteor showers. This tabletop telescope features a Newtonian reflector optical design, and comes with two fully multicoated 1.25" diameter eyepieces that yield 15x and 75x magnifications. The manual tabletop alt-azimuth mount gives you easy control of the telescope for tracking near and deep-sky objects. This telescope is easy to assemble and transport, so you can spend less time setting up and more time enjoying the night sky. Purchase of the scope includes a free download of Reeves' ebook "Lunar Landscapes".
- 76mm aperture is ideal for lunar and planetary viewing
- Fast f/4 focal ratio ensures images are bright
- Short 300mm focal length yields lower magnifications for wide fields of view to complement the manual AZ mount
- Newtonian reflector design produces a longer effective focal length than the physical length of the optical tube to ensure a compact form factor
- Resolution: 1.83 arcsec, Rayleigh; 1.53 arcsec, Dawes
- 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser
- Manual alt-azimuth mount
- Stable tabletop base
- Easy set up and leveling on virtually any surface including tables and car hoods
- 1.25" diameter barrel
- Accepts most 1.25" filters and accessories
- Fully multicoated to improve color and contrast
- 4mm eyepiece for 75x magnification
- 20mm eyepiece for 15x magnification
The Celestron Observer's Map of the Moon gives you all the lunar surface's highlights and key features, like craters and maria, with a convenient directory you can use to explore with your telescope or binoculas. Lunar topography was done by lunar cartographer Ralph Aeschliman. It is made of sturdy 4.2 mil thick HopSyn synthetic paper, which makes it waterproof and tear resistant. It is 24 x 24" when open and folds down to just 8 x 4" to make it easy to pack and carry.
