I think I will leave this in the matte box permanently. It provides a nice effect. I have not used it outdoors in the sun yet, but indoors I think it maintains details where they should be and also softens point light sources.

Does this come with the filter tray for the Tilta Mirage?
The Vaxis VFX 95 Black Mist 1/8 Filter for Tilta Mirage Matte Box (B&H# VAVFXBM18F) does not come with the filter tray for the Tilta Mirage Matte Box (B&H# TIMBT16). However, one filter tray for the Mirage matte box that is used for holding ND filters can hold both an IRND filter and a mist filter at the same time.
