Mint Camera SLR670-X Overview

A unique masterpiece of craftsmanship, the SLR670-X ZERO Instant Camera from Mint Camera is a meticulously constructed image-making tool. The SLR670-X ZERO features a 116mm f/8 glass lens with a four element design and a ground glass manual focusing wheel. Together with the red shutter button and brown leather, this makes this camera faithful to the creative spirit of the classic Polaroid SX-70. The SLR670-X ZERO allows you to use 600 film directly in auto mode, and 16 different shutter speeds offer a shutter speed range of 1/2000 sec to 1/2 sec. A Bulb and Time mode are also featured for long exposures.

A100 and A600 Auto Modes allow full support for SX-70 and 600 instant films, meaning there is no need to modify the camera or use add on peripherals like an ND filter in order to use 600 film. An electric eye also calculates the most accurate exposure after analyzing the surrounding scene, which makes shooting with the SLR670-X ZERO an easy and gratifying experience.
Manual Mode featuring 16 different shutter speeds allow for a more diverse shooting experience. With the ability to shoot silhouette photography and long exposure settings, your creativity will be limited only by what your mind can think up.
Includes a 2.5mm jack to trigger external flash units, which can be an incredibly creative tool when illuminating your subject. With studio-style lighting, you can easily add a creative twist to your instant photos and portraits. This lets you move beyond the limitations of natural light and lets you light up your instant photos anywhere, and at any time of the day.

Mint Camera SLR670-X Reviews

Beautiful image for as long as the camera body survives

Camera body is made out of a combination of metal and plastic. The view finder is where I had the most concern as it is made of plastic and some flimsy metal. You open and unlock the camera via the viewfinder by lifting it up, however after doing this for only a few months it began to fall apart. The view finder condition continued to get worse. It eventually completed came all apart and the metal pieces of the viewfinder cut my finger open. This was a high quality image with manual controls, but the body is to delicate in my opinion and will eventually fall apart. The mint customer service team is also, not too helpful despite being under warranty. The chalked this up as a user problem and not a design problem.

Rock Star Polaroid Camera

Rock Star Instant Camera I've used this camera for about five weeks and am happy with it. I have control over exposure via the shutter speed dial and I can also shoot with studio strobe (note that flash (studio strobe) sync speed is 1/30th of a second, which I have tested. 1/60th may work but I have not yet tested it). I've discovered that 1/125th of a second sync speed is too fast and yields poor results. Pros: 1) Control over exposure 2) Can shoot 600 or SX-70 film 3) External strobe sync 4) SLR so viewfinder shows you what you get Cons: 1) This is a delicate instrument 2) f/8 is the only aperture Recommendations: Use Frog tongue After shooting a frame and the film ejects, wait 30 seconds with the film under the frog tongue. Then transfer the frame to your camera bag so it can develop in the dark Make sure film is at recommended temperatures. I've shot film at too high a temperature and results were not what I wanted To connect camera strap, buy these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/736105-REG/OP_TECH_USA_1301082_System_Connectors_Mini_QD.html To connect to external strobe, buy this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/317225-REG/Comprehensive_SMPS_MJS_Stereo_3_5mm_Mini_Female.html To attach filters and tele lens, buy the retrograde engineering Polaroid SX-70 37mm Lens Adapter ' SX-37 I recommend the following case: Case Logic VNA210 10.2-Inch Netbook/iPad Attache Tele lens: ULTIMAXX 37mm 2.2x Professional HD Telephoto Anti-Reflection Lens

What is the difference between the SLR670-S and the SLR670-X?
Asked by: Hamish
The Mint Camera SLR670-X Ming Edition Instant Film Camera (Silver) (B&H# MISLR670XSL) features a built-in module which the manufacturer calls a “Time Machine.” That feature enables manual shutter speed setting and two automatic settings, one for ISO 640 speed film (called 600 film) and one for ISO 160 speed film (called SX-70). That’s especially helpful as it will allow you to adjust for different lighting conditions, too. The version of the Time Machine included as part of the SLR670-X even includes a 2.5mm flash sync port for connecting the camera to an external flash. In contrast, with the Mint Camera SLR670-S Instant Film Camera (Black) (B&H# MISLR670S) uses a different and external Time Machine module and it must be removed in order to shoot with ISO 160 speed film (called SX-70).

I don't see where the flash could be attached with the shutter speed mechanism on top. Is this possible?
Asked by: Jeffery
The flash would be mounted where the Time Machine goes. The Time Machine cannot be used at the same time with the flash.
