This lens does what it was meant to do exceptionally well. It covers a great wide angle, allowing the photographer to get a great deal of the scenery into the shot. I have used this lens on individuals, and it is capable of producing very sharp images. It also seems to perform well in low-light settings. A powerful lens, for a reasonable price.

How does the size and weight compare to the original non-AF version that I own? Is it optically equivalent?
The Rokinon 12mm f/2 AF Lens is lighter at 7.5 oz versus 9.17 oz on the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens. Also, the AF version would be better optically.

You should use the Rokinon lens station with the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 AF Lens for FUJIFILM X; it is possible that the Samyang lens station may work, but it's not designed specifically for Rokinon lenses.

will this work on a7iii and is there any issues being an APS-C format? I believe the a7iii has a crop of 1.01. What does that mean when using this lens?
The Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 AF Compact Ultra Wide-Angle Lens for Sony E-Mount will work on the Sony Alpha a7 III, but it is not recommended. This is an APS-C lens and so will only be using the center part of your camera sensor. This sensor would not cover the Full Frame sensor of that camera. This lens would be used in APS-C crop mode with a 1.5 crop.
