Three extra-low dispersion elements, one aspherical element, and one hybrid-aspherical element are incorporated into the lens construction to help to control aberrations and distortions for increased clarity and sharpness. Samyang 12mm f/2.0 AF Reviews

Exceeded All Expectations

This lens has exceeded my expectations. It is fairly small and quite attractive, with minimalist markings and controls. It is all plastic, but feels sturdy in the hand. Everything is tight, smooth, and even– the focus ring spins smoothly and the rubber over-molding is nicely done. Markings are minimal, and a decent petal hood is included. It is not reversible for stowage, but it is fairly small. The autofocus is surprisingly good. The motor is fast and quiet, and I have not noticed any difference in precision from a Fujifilm lens. Sharpness is very reasonable, especially if you stop down. Wide open, you do get a little bit of CA at the corners and a touch of focus falloff towards the edges. This is a fairly simple optical design so no big surprise. It is not nearly as tack sharp as my FujiFilm 10-24 f/4 WR at the same focal length and aperture, but it is not awful by any means. Bokeh is nice. This lens shoots well with both my X-M5 and my X-S10. I love shooting wider focal lengths, and to me, size and weight are a big part of the appeal here. This is a very compact lens for an extremely fast prime. Photographers with an eye for architecture or landscape will really appreciate the 18mm equivalent focal length, which is very wide without getting too weird. I have gotten a lot of images I like out of this lens. It is also a fantastic value, which I always like a lot in a lens I am going to tote around and beat up a bit.

My New Favorite Lens!

I recently added a APSC system alongside my full frame, and bought this lens for a convention I just photographed. It's wide enough to capture full groups, low angles, small rooms, etc. It's also VERY lightweight, very sharp, and fast.
