We were able to test this at the B&H Superstore and the Canon R5 C camera with the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens attached can fit comfortably in the ORCA DSLR Waist Pack, though it will not fit with a battery grip attached.

Will the main compartment hold a D500 w/18-55 lens attached, and be able to zip the top closed?
I need to answer my own question. I ordered and received this pack and the D500 w/ 18-55 attached will indeed fit with the top zippered. In fact, I attached a Tokina 11-16 f2.8, a much bigger lens, and it also fit and allowed the top cover to zip closed.
