Explorer Photo & Video TX-VK Voyager Tripod Reviews

Unreliable, Scary; Very Disappointing

I bought this Explorer TX-VK Voyager Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod b/c I was flying to a shoot and it fits in my carryon.  Twice my camera fell right off the tripod even though the tighten/release knob for the plate/ARCA shoe was well tightened…  At least once daily, my camera “flopped over” from an upright position, even though the tripod’s lever/knob for keeping the camera in the desired position was well tightened.  Downright unreliable and scary. I’ve had many tripods in my life – so I know how to use one, and I’ve not experienced this before. My gear weighs in at under 8 lbs— so it is well within the weight limit.  Wouldn’t buy this brand again.
