Bright, and works with R5II focus bracketing!

I usually buy Canon accessories for my Canon cameras for features, quality, reliability, etc. That said, a few Canon accessories are trash - like their GPS radio and wireless remote shutter release. Further, Canon has created a mess by making the new and old flashes and cameras incompatible, requiring an adapter. So it was easy to justify trying a non-Canon flash when I needed a ring flash. I already own the Canon macro twin-flash which works well, and is highly adjustable, but is very, very heavy. I wanted more even illumination than the twin flash, something lighter, and decided to try the Godoz MF-R76C. I do a lot of focus stacking and this is the first time I've tried using a flash with the Canon R5 II bracketing feature. There are two critical variables for this to work: the flash has to recharge quickly (or have a lot of reserve charge) and the brightness from flash-to-flash has to be fairly consistent. I've been manually setting the flash at 1/16 to 1/32 power and taking 5-10 image stacks with delay set to 0 sec. and it's been working well. Knowing I would need to use a low power setting to maintain reserve charge, I worried if the brightness would be enough and it has been plenty: this flash has brightness to spare. The flash works in my R5 II without the Canon adapter. Note: I'm not using ETTL - just manual mode. The user interface on Canon flashes can be cryptic, but I found the user interface on the MF-R76C to be easy to use. It is trivial to adjust the flash power on a shoot by just rotating the knob. No mode buttons to push. Setup: It takes some force to push the flash onto the adapter ring and you need to gently lift the tab. It's a small nuisance but better than having the flash wobble or slip off. All of the mechanical components feel snug and smooth.

I have been using this to take extra oral photos for clinical dentistry and it has done an excellent job. Reliable, simple, easy to use. I would highly recommend it.

Will the Godox MF-R76 work with a Pentax K1 mark2?

The Godox MF-R76 Macro Ring Flash is a manual flash. It will work in manual with the Pentax K1 Mark II. The flash comes with 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72 and 77mm adapter rings. The lens you use needs to work with one of those sizes.

There is no third-party 46mm adapter ring for the Godox MF-R76 Macro Ring Flash, but you could use the included 49mm ring with a 46-49mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring to attach the flash (BH #SESUR4649).

Godox discontinued the Godox MF-R76C Macro Ring Flash for Canon. The Godox MF-R76 Macro Ring Flash is a manual exposure ring flash that will work with Canon cameras. The Yongnuo YN-14EX-C Macro Ring Lite for Canon Cameras, BH #YOYN14EXC, is a good option for Canon E-TTL auto.
