Godox VSA-36° Spot Lens Overview

Ideal for theatrical work as well as fashion, the VSA-36K Spot Lens fits Godox lights and any that use the popular Bowens mount.

The 20.3 x 9.5 x 7.7" fixture has a lens that narrows the light's wide beam angle. Like most theatrical snoots of well-equipped ellipsoidal, the VSA-36K allows you to make sharp cuts with the included gobos and gobo holder. The light also has a filter holder in front of the lens.

Versatile w Wide Compatibility

The godox spotlight attachment vsa36k is legit. Frosted front lens so most LEDs up to 300w will work: the frosted lens prevents abberation u get w the aputure version. I attached my 330w Godox LA300R to the spotlight attachment overnight without issue. Intuitive design. Built in cutters work well. Have to buy the iris separately and the kit comes w 3 gobos: venetian blind, flame symbol, & foliage. You can buy more gobo kits /gels for front gel holder. U can use all modifiers together: focusing the lens, gels, iris, gobo, cutters. Dropping in the gobos is a little stiff. need a phillips head to loosen the sliding plate at the top for the iris to drop in. possibly smoother with time. Works well with my impact turtle base cstand. Secure mount & yoke & bowens where u attach the light; all good. Only used my LA300R with it as its lower profile in terms of length & has rgb but also good output. Ran 15min, didn't get too hot at 10dim cct/50dim hsi. Setwear hot hands gloves if u need to run it bright for a long time. The spot punches thru other studio lights quite well, even at lower dim values, especially since the LA300r is 50% brighter than earlier models. I didn't need to take it past 10dim in cct or 50dim in hsi. At around 6-8ft from the wall, the 36degree lens gave me a spot of about 3-3.5 ft. Setup time is a little long, mounting the yoke to the cstand, attaching the light to the bowens, connecting the front lens & power for the light. Once its on the cstand, i needed a stepladder to unscrew the sliding plate for the iris, & to drop in the gobo holder + gobo. Quicker w two ppl or installing the gobo/iris before mounting lol. Its good. I'm a little disappointed bcoz the 36degree angle is widest & still hard to get 3ft spot to be any wider in small spaces. But im also asking a spot to be wide, which is the opposite of what a spot is lol. Its punchy, works great w LA300R. Intiutive but lengthy one person setup. Great features.

Works well w Aputure

I got this to work with my old Aputure 120D. It fit perfectly, although the light is tilted when connected. I got both ther 36 and 19 degree lenses. The 36 creates a large spot. To use the gobos you have to unscrew a couple of screws to allow the gobo gadget to fit in.

I have the 36 degree. What’s the benefit of buying the smaller 19 degree version instead of just buying the optional iris?
Asked by: jerry
The benefit of utilizing the Godox VSA-19° Spot Lens will be distance. One can get the same effect using the Godox Iris Diaphragm for Spotlight Attachment, along with the Godox VSA-36° Spot Lens but from closer distance to subject.
