I purchased the tripod at the end of October 2023. The product has worked well until a couple of days ago. While unfolding the tripod, the plastic part that holds the three cross arms together broke. I looked at iOptron's website and read that the product has a limited one year warranty. I also read that to address a warranty issue, the customer must pay the cost of returning the product as well as shipping of the repaired or replaced item. I wrote iOptron explaining that this would be somewhat prohibitive cost-wise. IOptron responded quickly. They said they would send me the small plastic part that holds the cross supports in place; only that I was responsible for shipping - $8.99. Although iOptron could have required me to ship the broken part back first, I appreciate that they did not. Their warranty terms specify that the customer is responsible for return shipping, but it seems ridiculous to charge me $8.99 to ship a small part. Okay product, but I will purchase another manufacturer's products in the future.
