Good morning, does the SmallHD Indie 7 monitor use the DSM3 control specifically for the Komodo X camera?
The SmallHD Indie 7 RED RCP2 Monitor Kit for KOMODO/DSMC3 will also support the RED Komodo-X camera as well. The Komodo-X is a DSMC3 camera body.

No, USB-C to DC will not work to power the SmallHD Indie 7 RED RCP2 Monitor Kit for KOMODO/DSMC3. If your battery's d-tap port is blocked by the Komodo X's antenna, you could either get a different battery that has d-taps in a different location, or you could use a power plate to reposition the battery, such as the Core SWX GPTS V-Mount Hot Swap Adapter (BH #COGPTS).

I have both Komodo and VRaptor cameras, will this control both for one license? Meaning, can I use it on either camera and just buying one license?
Yes, SmallHD Indie 7 RED RCP2 Monitor Kit for KOMODO/DSMC3 will allow you to work with both the RED Komodo and the RED Raptor. The Kit includes the control cables and USB adapter that would be required for control. Also you may need to connect with SmallHD directly for a FREE upgrade to the software license for RED Raptor control. The Software is installed on the display so you could freely move the Indie kit from one camera to another.

The SmallHD Indie 7 RED RCP2 Monitor Kit for KOMODO/DSMC3 would require an SDI connection to the Komodo, and you would need to think about power as well. A Dtap cable is normally what you would use. I have listed both cables below:

The monitor can be used with optional paid software upgrades that enable camera control access to RED DSMC2 and KOMODO cameras. These software licenses allow users to control camera functions and project settings such as Start/Stop Record, FPS, Shutter Speed, ISO, Color Temperature/White Balance, and Clip Playback. But you need to have the DSMC2 control license firmware.

If you send this monitor a 4096x2160 signal it gets a gray line right through the middle of the screen. Turns out is can only handle a 3840 x 2160 HDMI input signal. Is there any workaround - so if i Need to shoot in the bigger 4k size and not see a gray line right down the middle?
Almost all cameras have the ability to change the output resolution independently of the recording resolution.
For example, you can tell the camera to output 3840x2160 (or even 1920x1080) and this will have no effect on your ability to record 4096x2160.
