Magnus VT-300 Video Tripod with Fluid Head

The Magnus VT-300 Video Tripod with Fluid Head is a lightweight and portable tripod system for shooting stable videos with DSLRs, small camcorders, and any other cameras up to 15 lb.

A built-in fluid effect video head pans a full 360°, tilts up and down, and features independent pan and tilt locks for fixed-position shots. A pan bar and a snap-in quick release camera plate are included. The quick release plate features a 1/4"-20 camera mounting screw, a registration pin, and an anti-skid mounting surface.

A center column raises or lowers at the turn of a hand crank to let you fine-tune a height without adjusting the tripod legs. A mid-level spreader keeps the legs steady when you adjust the tripod, and it locks to keep the legs secure once you've set the tripod in position. Both the center column and spreader are integrated. The maximum height of the tripod with the center column raised is 64.3".

The tripod legs extend at two leg stages at the release of flip-locks. The legs feature replaceable rubber feet that provide grip on hard or slippery surfaces. An internal bubble level will help you position the tripod evenly on uneven ground. A carry case with a shoulder strap is included and will let you conveniently carry the tripod over your shoulder when you're travelling about.

Magnus Pan Handle Video Remote for Select Sony Cameras and Camcorders

More than just a pan handle-mounted zoom control, the Magnus Pan Handle Video Remote for Select Sony Cameras and Camcorders provides access to camera functions such as photo and video start/stop, grid lines, zoom control, shutter lock, and your camera's sleep mode. Mounting the remote to your tripod's pan handle allows you to access these features while panning or tilting the camera/camcorder on your tripod.

The included pan handle allows you to attach the remote to select Magnus tripods, for easier operation of your camera's advanced focus without having to use a second hand to manipulate the camera while operating from a tripod, which can result in shaky or blown shots. The included 31.5" long cable that connects the remote to your camera enables you to operate the remote off of a pan handle if desired and the included lanyard allows you to hang the remote from a stand or other support.

Compatibility
  • The remote is compatible with most Sony cameras that have a multiterminal port, such as the SOHDRCX405, as well as Select Sony cameras and lenses with electronic zoom capabilities like the ZV-1.
  • The handle is compatible with the Magnus VT-100, VT-200, VT-300, and VT-350.
Control in the Palm of your Hand
  • The Pan Handle Video Remote gives you camera access to functions such as triggering photos and video, zoom in or out (with a powered zoom lens), grid lines for framing, and your camera's sleep mode—all while panning/tilting your tripod.
  • Take advantage of the lockable shutter release to keep the shutter open for long exposures or to enable continuous shooting.
  • The tactile-control layout of the remote is comfortable and easy to use.
  • Zoom Control
  • The remote allows you to adjust your camera's zoom on the fly and quickly switch from wide-angle to telephoto with Sony's compatible power-zoom-equipped cameras and camcorders.
  • The slow-zoom feature allows you to gradually zoom no matter how hard you press on the zoom control, creating a slow, smooth, cinematic zoom without worrying about accidentally zooming too fast.
  • Detachable Remote
  • Mount the remote on the included pan arm to attach the system to your compatible Magnus head, or detach the remote and control the zoom and other camera functions with the remote up to 31.5" away from the camera.
  • When you need to have direct control while panning your camera, just slide the remote back onto the pan arm.

Does this tripod work with the Sony aii?
    Asked by: BK
I’m sure that it will. I have a GH-4 and it works well with that camera. The plate does not allow you to move the camera forward or back to balance the camera but even so, I like the tripod. It’s inexpensive and light but I like the action on the head in tilting and panning.

    question

Magnus VT300 says it will support 15lbs. I have a VT4000 that is much sturdier and it says it supports up to 8.8lbs. What is the difference?
    Asked by: Allison
According to the makers of the tripods: The difference is the counterbalance on the VT-4000, vs failure weight on the VT-300.So the VT-4000 will counterbalance a camera load of 8.8 lbs without assistance. The VT-300 has no such spring, but will securely hold 15lbs in position with the locks engaged without any slipping.

Can I use quick release plate on this tripod on Zhiyun Crane Gimbal?
    Asked by: Nina
It appears that the style of quick release plate included with this tripod will not work with the Zhiyun Crane Gimbal. However, you can use a Manfrotto 323 style of quick release plate with the Zhiyun Crane, as linked here: https://bhpho.to/3pI0xY8
