Easyrig Minimax Overview

Designed for the DSLR/mirrorless shooter who uses a motorized gimbal, the Easyrig Minimax STABIL Light and Powerpack is great for removing bounce from walking or running, while also helping you to shoot for extended periods without fatigue. The STABIL light and Powerpack mount on an Easyrig Vest (not included) and is based on the Easyrig STABIL, though engineered for smaller payloads. It helps reduce vertical vibration and movement as you track your subjects.

This upgraded Minimax model features a redesigned spring system to accommodate the STABIL Light, which results in smoother support rope movement designed specifically for the 4.4 to 15.4 lb payload range. You can adjust the tension of the STABIL Light flexible support arm to match the weight of you gimbal/camera combination, and you can also lock the support arm so that it behaves as the original Minimax arm does if you wish.

Compatibility
you can use this with gimbal/camera systems weighing between 4.4 to 15.4 lb. It requires an Easyrig vest, which is not included
Setup
Use gimbals directly with the STABIL Light, or use your gimbal mounted in an optional two-hand ring, or with the optional Easyrig Easy Tilt Bar, which allows you to tilt your gimbal in addition to easily panning
Use
Use this system to smooth out shots when walking or running with a supported gimbal/camera setup
Adjustment
You can adjust the spring tension in the STABIL Light arm to tune it to match your gimbal/camera setup, and if you want to eliminate the vibration compensation you can lock the arm

How is the Stabil arm when not using a gimbal? Particularly for run and gun documentary work? Hoping to use it with a fx9 with vmount batteries in future
Asked by: JP
This will be a great option for you Sony FX9 set up. It will release some of the payload of your gear, so it's easier to hold. It wont completely stabilize the image like a gimbal does, but it will help with handheld shots being less shacky.

Can I use this with a DSLR?
Asked by: Julia
The Easyrig Minimax has a load capacity between 4.4 to 15.4 pounds. This is perfect for a DSLR Rig which is in that range. A rig will be necessary as you will need a top handle over the DSLR to use with the Minimax. For further assistance feel free to email us directly at [email protected].

If you have to jump in a car to film, can you keep the EasyRig on you?
Asked by: Laura
The Easyrig Minimax with Quick Release would not work well inside vehicles. I'm sure it would need to be removed and stored first. However if there is a sunroof you could stand in. Or used a Pickup truck bed to stand in, either of these locations would provide sufficient room.

Asked by: Ali
If you are asking about the compatibility of the quick release system of this stabilizer with that of the DJI Ronin RSC 2, they employ different quick release systems which are, unfortunately, not compatible.
