Boris FX Lens Unit Overview

The Boris Continuum continues to grow and delight users, from indie filmmakers to seasoned commercial pros, and the Boris FX Continuum Lens Package is a plug-in package that can help you get the most storytelling and emotional impact from your footage. The Continuum works with a variety of popular editing and effects programs from Adobe, Blackmagic, Apple, Avid, Vegas, and Nuke. This plug-in package consists of 7 effects to choose from

The package includes electronic filters that allow you to recreate many of the optical lens artifacts that cinematographers and still photographers use to creative advantage. Each of the 7 effects features factory presets and also allows you to save user presets for customizing the effect. Supporting OpenColorIO, the plug-ins are compatible with Windows and Mac. This is a 1-seat license to use in a compatible edit or effect program of your choice.

    A complete color management solution geared towards motion picture production with an emphasis on visual effects and computer animation, allowing your color effects and grades to work the same across a variety of OCIO compliant systems.
    Tools
    Vignette
    Generates a popular photographic effect where the photo gradually fades towards the edges of the framed, usually in a circular or rectangular shape. The vignette effect can be any color as well as thrown out of focus.
    Camera Shake
    Simulates camera shake, using random changes in amplitude, speed, scale, rotation, and motion blur.
      Adjustments include:
    • Shutter Angle
    • Shutter Phase
    • Motion Samples
    Chromatic Aberation
    Though normally an undesirable artifact, this plug-in allows you to simulate the look of chromatic aberration to add a distinct look to a lens without chromatic aberration.
    DeFringe
    Isolates and removes the types of color fringing. Purple or blue fringing around overexposed areas is often the result of sensor overloading in video as well as digital still cameras.
    Lens Distortion
    Corrects for pin-cushioning and barrel distortion of camera lenses. It is also useful for recreating the look of a wide angle lens.
    Radial Exposure
    Lightens and/or darkens the center or edges of an image to counter lens vignetting. This filter uses specialized tools to help remove vignetting.
    Wide Angle Lens
    Quickly and easily simulate the effect of a wide angle lens.
