The Tiffen Black Satin Filter reduces contrast and produces a grittier, grainier appearance in the highlights. Made of Water White optical glass, the filter maintains high optical clarity and provides better control over the highlights within a scene. It also smooths blemishes, wrinkles, and other textures while maintaining a natural look. Ideally suited for use with modern lenses and digital image sensors, it produces a film-like aesthetic while retaining sharpness.

Tiffen Black Satin Reviews
Very subtle effect, but nice smoothing and it's not overdone.

Very Subtle effect, but nice smoothing where it's not overdone. Might try out a 1/2 as well eventually for when i want it a little more overdone / stylistic. This takes that digital sharpness off. Thanks to Shane Hurlbut for the lesson on these filters.

I recently added this filter to my fujifilm x100vI and I have been loving the results. Highly recommend if you want more cinematic looking pictures.
