A Lot Of Negatives

I suppose for $15 one should not expect much, but this mirage mirror kit had too many negatives for me to rate it any higher than 1 star. Here's the negatives, in no particular order: 1) There is NO mirror. The reflective surface is shiny BLACK plastic. It reflects better than I thought it would, but it's no mirror. 2) The mirror and the two pieces of enclosed metal have either plastic or paper stuck to the sides. The plastic and paper is hard to remove -- there is no extra amount to grab onto. The paper can rip into pieces, making it even harder to remove. 3) There are no directions and no photo of the completed piece. 4) The two pieces of metal have one sticky side, meant to permanently glue to either your phone body or the case surrounding your phone. Once attached, I discovered that the metal interferes with the charging of your phone. So I guess you would glue it to the case, but that would require you to remove the case whenever you charged your phone. My iPhone 16 Pro Max is magnetic, so theoretically I wouldn't need the pieces of metal -- but the T-shaped magnetic core holder still didn't work properly. 5) The T-shaped magnetic core holder is supposed to magnetically hold to either your phone or one of the metal stick-on plates. The problem is that the designers must have thought that the camera lens was flush with the camera body. However, the lens is elevated several mm above the camera body. To make the mirage kit work properly, the mirror has to be over a camera lens, which means the T-shaped magnet cannot sit flat on the phone. It sits at an angle with only a tiny part of the end of the magnet attached. This means that the kit is not firmly attached to the camera. What happens is the entire kit both slides down the camera and allows the mirror to wiggle left and right. It's very hard to get the mirror in the correct position to take a photo. 6) It's impossible, with the parts provided, to elevate the T-shaped magnetic core holder to sit even with the camera lens. You have to hold the mirror in place with your hand, which defeats the purpose of the kit. 7) It only works with the phone in the horizontal position. Positives: 1) The black plastic does reflect an image into the camera. The brighter the daylight, the better.   It gets one star for actually reflecting an image. It's too cheap to bother sending it back -- it's going in the trash.
