Rocstor Rocpro D90 Overview

Turn an SSD or HDD into an external drive with the Rocpro D90 USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 External Drive Enclosure from Rocstor. This aluminum enclosure can hold a single 3.5" or 2.5" SATA III drive, up to 18TB. Its USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port supports transfer speeds up to 10 Gb/s.

Made for creative professionals, the aluminum enclosure utilizes a heat-dissipating design intended to increase the airflow under sustained workflows. The D90 is plug-and-play with Windows and macOS, requiring no drivers.

The D90 can hold a single 3.5" SATA III HDD or SSD, up to 18TB.
USB-C 3.2 Gen 2

The specs on this device looked great and I wanted a 3.2 gen 2 for 10GBs however, the actual chip inside , see picture is only a Gen 1 chip so the speed can max out at 5 GBS. The manufacturer has not responded and all the packaging and advertising is misleading. if you buy this make sure 5GBS meets your needs. Ill probably return. Even the board inside shows revision is USB 3.2 Gen 1

Despite being advertised and having printed manuals describing this as USB 3.2 Gen 2, in fact the connection is USB-C 3.1 Gen 1. The difference is 5 Gb/s vs. 10 GB/s, so it's not a small difference. Turns out the chip inside is one of JMicron's USB 3.1 Gen 1 chips. I've resolved the issue directly with the manufacturer. I also called B&H the same day to let them know, and they said they would update the website. But, I still see lots of D90s being described as USB 3.2 Gen 2, so apparently B&H hasn't taken that step, which is unfortunate.

Hi, is this compatible w/ Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" SATAIII? Any known issue with this enclosure connecting to Macs? Thank you.
