Angelbird 2TB CFexpress Type B Overview

Designed for maximum sustained high-speed recording with video and photo cameras, the 2TB AV Pro MK2 CFexpress 2.0 Type B Memory Card from Angelbird captures high bitrate raw video and photo files at 6K, 8K, and 12K+ resolutions. This card features a capacity of 2TB and uses the PCIe 3.0 x2 bus to deliver maximum read speeds of 1785 MB/s, maximum write speeds of 1550 MB/s, minimum sustained read speeds of 1785 MB/s, and minimum sustained write speeds of 1300 MB/s.

Compatible with devices that support CFexpress 2.0 Type B, Angelbird's AV Pro MK2 CFexpress 2.0 series has been engineered with protection against shock, vibration, overheating, and temperature extremes from 14 to 158°F. Included is hardware and software data recovery and a limited 3-year warranty. Please note that data recovery is provided for free, as long as your card is in warranty.

To receive the full limited warranty, the product needs to be registered on the Angelbird Personal Service Portal within 30 days after purchase.

Firmware Update
Installing the firmware update on Angelbird CFexpress cards requires an Angelbird CFexpress Card Reader. The successful update requires all components to be in sync, including the operating system with its drivers and software, the card reader, and your CFexpress Type B card. Communication between the firmware update tool and the card to be updated is only possible via an Angelbird CFexpress card reader chip. Any communication error would lead to an unsuccessful update.

Over heating after few shoots.

It works fine for few months but it gets over heating and stop recording recently. After around 20 mins HQ 6k 60p r3d recording, it over heat and need to take out and rest for a while.

2 dead cards - bad luck or quality control issues?

I have always had good luck with Angelbird CF express cards (512, 1TB) of this 1785MB/s variety (using it with Nikon Z8/9 and Canon R5c). Unfortunately, the 2TB cards are another story... The first failed within a month of purchase so I returned it to B&H (great return policy) and they exchanged it for another one. That one lasted 2 months before failing. Be warned that you must pay to have defective cards shipped back to Angelbird! The first failed card would allow the camera to record for a few seconds then freeze. The second one just died. For future 2TB cards, I am going to opt for another brand (ExAscend has been solid) and because of the Angelbird shipping policy, may steer clear of their cards altogether.
