Yes, the PNY RTX A4500 can be used with a motherboard with a free PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, although you will not be able to achieve the speeds of PCIe 4.0.

After a couple of hours of Utube videos from Tech Notice and the MSI forum with badboy2k we figured out the best configuration would be to put my OS/program drive, Samsung 1T 980 PCLe 4.0, in the M2-2 slot which is PCLe 4. The small amount of Latency would be imperceptible and then leave the M2-1 slot empty. This way I could run my GPU at the full 16 channels. Plus save a little money with the 980s instead of the 990s. This build is for running Davinci Resolve which leans more towards the GPU use rather than the CPU. I also upgraded my CPU to a Intel Core i9-14900K 3.2 GHz 24-Core LGA 1700 Processor.

Reviews of the A4000 (which would otherwise be fine for me) frequently state that it runs very hot. As the A4500 is wider with more cooling slots, does it run cooler?

Heating problem shown, because some gentleman blocked exhaust vent in case while installing. Otherwise it fine. Exhaust vent is very small so... it should be fine as long as no obstacles around

I am exploring A4500 for my video editing in Davinci Resolve, since my past 2 gpu from geforce(1080ti - 11GB) series died after 5 year without going under much stress in video editing work station. Purely Aging, have burned my hand twice with Geforce. I am expecting longevity of the product for peace of mind. Is it expected from A4500?

Possibly, however the determining factor would be level of content you are working with in Davinci Resolve.
