The Mogami Gold 3.5mm TRS Male to Dual XLR Female Y-Cable (10') is not a balanced cable. 3.5mm stereo TRS is not a balanced connection, so even though the input connectors are XLR the signal going through the cable cannot be balanced.

Can I use this cable with a Deity V-Mic D3 Pro to ...

Can I use this cable with a Deity V-Mic D3 Pro to split the outgoing signal to use the XLR inputs on a Tascam DR40? Or do you recommend another option?

The Mogami Gold 3.5mm TRS Male to Dual XLR Female Y-Cable is not going to work to connect the Deity V-Mic D3 Pro because you need the XLR connectors to be male in order to connect to the inputs on the Tascam DR40 Recorder. The Mogami Gold 3.5mm TRS Male to Dual XLR Male Y-Cable - 10' (B&H # MOG352XLRM10) is the version that you need.
