Is this what I need to attach the Shape FX6 extension handle directly to the FX6? If not then what adapter do I need?
The SHAPE Thin ARRI-Standard Rosette Mount (B&H# SHTASRM) is for use with an M6 center thread but most of the threads on the Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Camera (Body Only) (B&H# SOFX6) are 1/4" threads. Fortunately, the SHAPE Remote Extension Handle and Cable for Sony FX6 (B&H# SHFX6RH) comes with the appropriate rosette for use with the camera; No additional purchase is needed for the physical attachment.

The SHAPE Thin ARRI-Standard Rosette Mount (B&H# SHTASRM) is designed to interface only with an ARRI rosette. For example, please note the M6 center thread. It will not fit the anti-twist accessory mounts we've seen. You can ask about a more specific item, if you like.
