The Sontronics DM-1B is a condenser microphone specially engineered for use on kick drums, bass cabinets, tenor/baritone sax, low brass, bass clarinets, and similar instruments with a lot of low-end frequency information. This end-address microphone features a -15 dB pad that allows it to handle SPLs up to 155 dB, so you can position the mic right on the kick drum, or even slightly inside the sound hole, and get a richly detailed sound with plenty of bottom for stage and studio applications.
The DM-1B features a cardioid pickup pattern that helps to focus audio capture on the instrument in front of the mic and while picking up less unwanted background sounds. The mic features a standard 3-pin XLR connector and the condenser capsule requires 48V phantom power for operation. An aluminum flight case is included.
