Impact Wall Mount Scissor Boom Overview

Conserve the valuable floor space in your studio or workspace while still being able to hang lights and position them with the Impact Wall Mount Scissor Boom. The boom, also known as a pantograph-style boom, features robust steel construction and can be mounted onto masonry or wood. It supports light fixtures and/or other gear weighing up to 11 lb, and it provides a wide range of swivel, height, and reach adjustments for the perfect light and accessory placement. The pantograph delivers a 31" vertical adjustment range, and the riser adds another 13" of height adjustment. The WM-SB gives you the option of low-angle, eye-level, or overhead lighting with a single boom arm.

Sporting a 5/8" baby pin with an integrated 3/8"-16 threaded screw, you can mount your light or accessory on the boom's riser and extend it up to 55" from the wall. In addition, you can swing the boom 180° for precise positioning while extended. When it's not in use, you can reduce clutter by swiveling the pantograph to the wall, so it takes up less than 5" of space. All this while minimizing the chance of tripping over or bumping your light stands in a less cluttered working space.

Scissor Extensions
The pantograph extends up to 55", so you don't need to go through the difficulty of moving gear around in small areas crowded with light stands and tripods. The pantograph allows you to move a light close to your subject for portraits and tabletop shots.
Robust Steel Construction
The WM-SB is designed to keep loads of up to 11 lb securely suspended off the wall, and every part of this scissor boom is designed to carry the weight of your lights or accessories without sacrificing smooth swivel or reach adjustments. Once your gear is mounted, you can smoothly glide it into the perfect spot for your exposure or video.
Locking Knobs
Large ergonomic T-handles provide a good grip allowing you to exert enough torque to loosen and secure the locking knobs when adjusting the length, height, and swivel.
Mounting
Concrete wall-mounting anchors are included. If mounting the boom arm on a wood surface, make sure to use appropriate mounting hardware.

I'm not using this unit to mount lights. I needed to have my 28 4K monitor above and without any contact with my Desk. I already had an Impact Heavy-Duty Baby VESA Monitor Mount BH #IMBVMMHD that fits with the Impact Wall Mount Scissor Boom perfectly, for having the same exact mount required for this Scissor Boom, just as if it were a light's 5/8 Yoke. The distance I need from the wall to reach my desired distance, I barely have to extend the scissors. Everything remains neatly contracted against the wall, but if I want to extend, I can easily do it. When mounted PROPERLY, on wood or metal studs or concrete (in my case, metal studs), it is a VERY solid setup. Before I mounted it, I wasn't sure of how my idea of setup with a monitor would turn out, since the scissors is already a super heavy item itself, but after I actually bolted this thing to the wall, I feel that I could hang myself on it. THIS THING IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. As soon as I grabbed it after mounted on the wall, it gave me all the confidence I needed, It can handle my monitor, with the weight of the bulky VESA mount and more. They rated this device to hold up to 11 lbs. Well, my setup including the monitor + the VESA (less the monitor's desktop stand hardware) IS WITHIN the weight they ask, but I think it can hold way more, AS LONG AS you don't fully extend the scissors all the way out if mounting something heavier. You know... the good old laws of physics and common sense is good to keep in mind... I love it! My desk looks nice and that mount looks intriguing by the looks as you don't see a monitor mount like that everyday...The whole thing is simply...MASSIVE and overkill a little LOL. On thing to keep in mind: the Impact VESA mount won't sit all the way on the 5/8 spigot somehow. I had to install the Impact VESA mount with its axis slightly sideways instead of the normal way you would just drop down your light's yoke on the 5/8 spigot. Therefore, even if you alight the Impact Wall Mount Scissor Boom perfectly straight on the wall, the monitor will be slightly crooked, BECAUSE of the Impact's VESA mount. So, to remedy the situation, all I had to do is to turn the monitor slightly 10 degrees on the side on the VESA mount 2 axis capable and rotate the scissor boom vertical steel bar where you'd be mounting your light to the other side. BUT, the actual Impact Wall Mount Scissor Boom is absolutely straight. Again, the adjustments necessary were on the VESA unit, not on the actual boom. Monitor is straight. Don't forget to see the pictures I attached. I showed everything there and it is very simple to understand the setup. To remove the monitor our, it's the same way you would by removing an actual light out of there.Takes 1 second. I'm very happy with this setup. And I can use the scissors anytime on my desk if I wanted to install a night light such as the LUXLI Timpani 2 that I also have, instead, for a Zoom meeting while just using my MacBook without the external monitor... [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

could you potentially mount a 9 foot seamless to 2 of these?
Asked by: Adrienne
Although you could mount a 9 foot seamless roll of paper to 2 of these it would be awkward to manage. You would also need to purchase a crossbar to hold and mount the seamless on top of the two pins at each end. The Impact Heavy-Duty 9' Adjustable Background Crossbar (Black) would do the job.
