Epson D1070 Overview

The SureLab D1070 Professional Minilab Printer from Epson is designed for high-production printing of small-format photos. It supports up to 213' paper rolls and prints up to 460 photos per hour in the 4 x 6" size, 300 at 5 x 7", and 165 at 8 x 10". The compact size and integrated output tray of the D1070 Minilab make it well-suited for photo booths as well as portrait and event photography. The D1070 Minilab prints on one side only. (For dual-sided printing on paper sheets, please check out the related D1070DE, which supports paper rolls but also includes a duplex sheet feeder.)

The D1070 Minilab printer features the advanced Epson MicroPiezo AMC printhead and AccuPhoto image processing technology. It supports the UltraChrome D6r-S six-color ink set, sold separately. These vivid dye-based inks deliver a wide color gamut and produce prints that are resistant to water, smudging, and fading. Other key features include a nozzle detection and alignment technology that ensures less downtime and more reliable operation. Connect the printer over Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB.

I had this for 2 years...bought just as it came out. I only have 24,000 prints done on this machine, and it started making grinding noises and stopped working completely. Spent $50 shipping to send it in...it was a pump cap that needs to be replaced. $1300. And from what I'm reading all over the internet that these are junk. And the repair is only warrenteed for 90. So no way I'm going to pay that much for it to certainlly fail again. Trying to figure out what to do as I have all kinds of inks and paper already invested. If I'm forced to buy another one I will get a longer warranty. I got the 1 year warranty that I bought and of course nothing went wrong, but I was having issues with clogged heads. Should have sent it in then realizing how bad these printers are.

my D700 worked flawslessly out of the box ,now 6 hours of set up and still not able to print packages out of LRC with out having to turn off the printer remove and cut the paper tail where it started to print the next image, it constantly tells me out of paper its a new roll,I can print out of photoshop not a problem. My work flow is out of LRC and I need to print 1800 5x7 today.I have uploaded and reinstalled the software many times used the updater Its about to learn to fly out my window

What is the “archival” rating for the prints from ...

What is the “archival” rating for the prints from this dye ink printer ?

The Epson SureLab D1070 Professional Minilab Printer uses dye based ink and is not considered archival. Pigment based prints can last unchanged for 100 years or more.

Yes, the Epson SureLab D1070DE Professional Minilab Printer with Duplex Sheet Feeder can print on 8" roll media. The maximum print length is 39.3". It can print 8x12", 8x14" and other lengths up to that maximum.
